The new PAGlink HC-PL150T is a high-capacity, high-current, intelligent linking battery and part of the PAGlink Gold Mount system.
PAGlink is the industry’s first intelligent linking battery system. It offers more power, more functional benefits and more technological advancements than any other battery system.
PAGlink batteries are compatible with the Gold Mount camera plate and Anton Bauer Li-Ion chargers. There is no need to replace expensive chargers in order to benefit from the many advantages of PAG’s revolutionary, intelligent linking technology.
As well as being smarter, PAGlink batteries are smaller and lighter, with a higher energy density than any Gold Mount system marketed to date. The HC-PL150T takes advantage of the latest high-capacity Li-Ion cells in order to provide a greatly increased capacity, without an increase in size. The HC-PL150T battery is the same size as the HC-PL94T (Model 9306), and only 40g heavier.
The HC-PL150T has a capacity of 150Wh and is designed for applications where power consumption is high, such as a digital cinema camera and multiple accessories. Two batteries, in any state of charge, can be linked, combining their capacities, to create a 300Wh power source, with a weight of just 1.5kg (3.3lbs) approx. The PAGlink system allows up to 8 batteries to be linked for discharge.
Linking batteries also enables a higher continuous current of up to 12A to be supplied for power-hungry camera set-ups. Individual PAGlink batteries are capable of providing 10A continuously. PAGlink batteries feature hard-wearing, heavy duty contacts, suitable for high-current applications.
PAGlink allows batteries to be hot-swapped for continuous power, which means no more reboots while shooting.
Intelligent PAGlink batteries form a network that enables them to communicate with each other, managing the output safely, and preventing the transfer of charge between batteries.
HC-PL150T and HC-PL94T batteries are totally compatible and can be linked for charge or discharge.
The battery incorporates a Numeric Run-Time and Capacity Display. Remaining run-time is shown, on-load, expressed in hours and minutes, to a resolution of 1 minute. When batteries are linked, the run-time figure is for the entire stack, but a single button press shows individual battery capacity as a percentage of full, in 1% increments. The display maintains its accuracy by tracking the performance, and adjusting calibration values to compensate for the ageing of the cells.
The batteries communicate automatically with the camera data system that allows both PAGlink and Anton Bauer batteries to display their remaining capacity in the viewfinder and LCD.
All PAG Li-Ion batteries are tested to UN standards by an independent authority and certified to comply with air transport safety regulations. The HC-PL150T has a capacity above 100Wh, but below 160Wh, which means you are allowed 2 units per person, in carry-on luggage, when you travel by air.
Every PAG Li-Ion battery is supplied with an Air Transport Certificate in its instruction booklet, and is labelled with its UN Test number.

PAGlink also allows up to 8 batteries to be linked for charging. When using a PAGlink charger, batteries in any state of charge can be linked for charging. The 2-position PL16 charger (Model 9707A) will simultaneously charge up to 16 PAGlink Gold Mount batteries (8 on each position). Using PAG chargers is the best way to ensure the longest possible battery life.
Linked battery charging was developed by PAG and is unique to the PAGlink system. Linked charging is more efficient because it allows more batteries to be charged on fewer and smaller chargers, with less user intervention. Keep your batteries topped-off on the charger instead of leaving them to self-discharge on the shelf.
Alternatively, because PAGlink batteries control their own charge regime, Anton Bauer Li-Ion chargers can be used. The number of batteries that can be charged linked is dependent on the charger model and firmware version.
PAGlink batteries display their individual status during charging. The battery display characters can be rotated with a single button press, for legibility.
PAGlink batteries are firmware upgradeable. The program can be updated in the field by the user, in a matter of seconds, without opening the battery case. An update can be supplied by PAG, or your dealer, which enables you to benefit from the technological advances that PAG introduces to accommodate developments in camera and charger technology.
The PAGlink batteries feature long-life, premier-quality Li-Ion cells, which have no memory effect, and are completely recyclable. In keeping with PAG’s total battery design philosophy the HC-PL150T has been designed and constructed to provide the longest possible working life.
The battery case is manufactured from high-impact, injection-moulded polycarbonate, which is inherently very strong and also used for motorcycle crash helmets. Additionally, the internal case design protects the cell-pack against damaging impact.
The battery features a multi-level electronic protection system which is fail-safe and guards against conditions that reduce battery life. The circuits are coated with Parylene, to protect them and ensure the operation of the safety systems in the event of damage to the battery.
